As an act of allegiance and obedience, the Naga endowed the kings with vast wealth and power, and thus safeguarding the prosperity of the land. A guardian of the Buddha and protector of earthly waters, the Naga exhibited magical powers that allowed it to take human semblance.

Drawing inspiration from this mystical creature, De Naga Chiang Mai displays an array of Naga throughout the hotel in the form of statues, ornaments and various decorative details. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Locals would say, you havent really gone to Chiang Mai unless you’ve been to Wat Phratat Doi Suthep. truly, The place is the most important and famous Chiang Mai landmark. built in 1383, This mountaintop temple has a chedi (pagoda) that houses holy buddha relics. the gold-plated chedi lies in the middle of a square marble-tiled courtyard. the four corners of the chedi are adorned with parasols which represent royal regalia. The temples courtyard is lined by a cloister, which contains images and murals depicting buddhas life. There are also two viharns situated in the middle of the east and west sides of the cloister.

Chiang Mai National Museum
Located on the Chiang Mai – Lampang super highway near Wat Chet Yot. The museum has been designated by the fine arts department as a regional center for education and preservation of the art and culture of chiang mai and upper northern thailand the Lanna kingdom. Their majesties the king and queen graciously presided over the opening of the museum on 6 february 1973. The museum was built according to traditional northern architecture, with a Lanna Thai rooftop.

Chiang Mai Zoo
Situated next to Huai Kaew arboretum at the foot of the mountain where Phra That Doi Suthep is located, the zoo houses a pair of cuddly pandas on loan from china. Restaurant

Start the day with an American, Continental or traditional Thai breakfast. Alternatively we also offer a la carte breakfasts. Bann Tazala also provides all day dining. Breakfast is available between 7 and 11 a.m.

Bann Tazala Restaurant

Exquisite French cuisine is served in Bann Tazala Restaurant’s intimate and inimitable setting. Richly decorated with warm bold colours and accented with elegant Oriental object d’art, this sixteen seat restaurant is suitable for small groups or serious romance. Imaginative cuisine, although limited in range, is alluring and constantly evolving. Highly recommended are the Tazala Salad, a combination of green salads, salmon and marinated coriander; Clear Guinea Fowl Soup with Goose Liver which comes with freshly baked bread and Grilled Tenderloin of Beef with Goose Liver Sauce.

Villas

Our Villas bring to life the architecture and design of Lanna, evoking all the regions that rich kingdom covered from Mandalay to Vientiane.

All are made with rich bronze teak wood that blends with the natural surroundings. With over 60 acres of land we had no shortage of space in creating our villas and all are renowned for their size. Indeed most have dining areas, outdoor plunge pools and your own piano. These are true retreats set amidst paddy fields and ornate gardens, the rain trees and betel palms create a green seclusion. Inside we provide high levels of modern technology balancing tradition with all the luxuries of modern travel.

The Villas are created over two floors, providing a large living area on the ground floor with the entire top floor your bedroom and bathroom. Some are built on stilts, a traditional approach, in harmony with the tropical climate. Choose from our Villa , Deluxe Villa with private sala or Jacuzzi, one of our Grand Deluxe Villas with either plunge pool or private pool or one of our 2 bedroom villas.

Suites

Neighbouring influences introduced colonial architecture to Northern Thailand and we bring that classic elegance to life in our colonial suites.

Our suites run the length of a white colonnade lined with green palms and dark shutters. Located around the gardens near the swimming pool and lobby they are a more sociable option to the private villas and it is easy to arrange connecting rooms.

The interiors evoke a bygone era of elegant grandeur. Each suite has a separate living room and a large private verandah. The ceilings soar to five metres enhancing the feeling of airy spaciousness, so inviting in the tropics.
